Phil Gould has announced on Channel Nine’s NRL coverage tonight that “Sir Kev” Kingston will remain with the club for another year after signing a new contract.
We couldn’t guarantee him a long term deal at the time because of a young fella called James Segeyaro who we think will advance to be our number one hooker next season. We’ve been monitoring this situation. Kevin, the only options he had was to leave Sydney in circumstances at home where that’s not really convenient at this time. We sat down with Kevin this week and we’ve agreed to a new one year deal. Kevin Kingston will remain with the Panthers next year and that’s a good story for both club and player.
That’s great news for the fans who’ve been hoping that Kevin would have some sort of role to play in our 2014 NRL Premiership campaign.
