Match Review

It was the Semi Radradra and Vai Toutai show in Parramatta, as the Eels wingers each scored three outstanding tries in the their sides 36-16 win over the Warriors.‏

The new look Eels side was far to good for the Warriors in their first game of the 2014 season.

The Eels opened the scoring in just the 4th minute through excitement machine, Semi Radradra.

Radradra was in the thick of it again just moments later when he set up the ‘Hayne plane’ to score their second of the night and put the Eels ahead 10-0 after 12 minutes.

The Warriors struck back four minutes later to make the score line 10-4, however the Eels managed to find the line again through Vai Toutai minutes later.

The Warriors scored on the stroke of half time and after countless looks from the video referee were awarded an eight point try for contact made to the try scorer, Carlos Tuimavave’s head.

Johnson slotted both conversions however the Warriors still trailed the Eels 14-12 at half time.

The Eels started the second half in the best of possible ways with a four pointer in the opening moments. Radradra again easily finding his way to the try line.

In the 45th minute Radradra scored again to grab his hat trick for the night and put the Eels ahead 24-12.

The Warriors gave themselves a slight chance when the beast scored to reduce the gap to 24-16, however it was one way traffic from there on in, with the Eels running in two late tries and a penalty goal to seal the deal.

Vai Toutai scoring the closing two tries to join Radradra in grabbing a hat trick in the match.

The Eels proved they are far from the team that won the wooden spoon in 2013, with a comprehensive 36-16 thrashing of the Warriors.

For the Warriors, a heap of improvement is needed as they head back to Auckland to take on a Dragons side full of confidence.
