A statement had been released earlier in the week to address the fans after a poor start to the Super League which included the news that Fakir will be dropped to reserve grade for his poor start to the season.
Fakir featured in the clubs first ever Super League game against Wigan Warriors and was starting his ninth season with the French outfit and will not play anywhere else for the foreseeable future after putting his career on hold.
The club’s CEO Christophe Jouffret told the club’s website that Fakir is ‘honest and responsible’ and preferred to stop playing rather than drop to reserve grade, admitting himself that he was performing below 100% so far this season.
