Cronulla’s season looks to be going from bad to worse, as they slumped to a disappointing 24-4 loss to the Sea Eagles to cement their place at the bottom of the table.
What was described as “embarrassing” loss by head coach Peter Sharp erased all hope of the Sharks recording back to back wins and now sees the Sharks fighting for their season after just 1 win from 6 games.
The Sharks were put on the back foot right from the word go with Manly scoring just 2 minutes into the match and extended their lead out to 12 points through Brenton Lawrence moments later.
The Sea Eagles were clinical in both defence and attack, running in another two tries before half time to take a 20 point lead against a woeful Cronulla side.
Hiku scored for the Eagles in the second half to add another four points to their lead.
The Sharks crossed the line in the 80th minute for nothing but a consolation try after what had been a disappointing display by the same side that was so impressive against the Warriors one week earlier.
The Sea Eagles recording a well-deserved 24-4 victory over a Sharks side that has a lot of improving to do before next week.
