QLDPanthers Guide to the Gold Coast Titans event

It’s only three weeks away now before the Penrith Panthers visit the Gold Coast in their only Queensland game in 2014.  We want to provide you with some handy hints to ensure your June long weekend is memorable.

For the first time ever QLDPanthers have their own membership!  Now is the time to become one of the proud 15,000 Penrith Panther members, with packages starting at $50.

Not only do you get your game ticket, you also receive two flexi-tickets for homes games at SportingBet Stadium and a player meet and greet the day before the Titans home game.  This is an exclusive event for QLDPanther ticketed members only!  Details will come through on a Penrith Panthers club email as to time and venue.

QLDPanthers suggests you purchase your membership by June 1 to avoid disappointment.

2. Book your accommodation

downloadFor anyone heading from Brisbane, regional Queensland or Interstate, booking a hotel room might be the best option to make your stay on the Gold Coast relaxing and enjoyable.

With the game on a long weekend, booking a room sooner rather than later is essential.

We recommend:  Agoda, Last Minute and wotif

Now, to decide where to stay!

If you’re planning to have a night out in Surfers Paradise we recommend Southport, Surfers Paradise city centre or Broadbeach.

If you’re planning to be close to the ground for game day, we recommend Merrimac or Varsity Lakes.

3. Need transport? Buy a GO-card

Visiting the Gold Coast without a car?  A GoCard is an essential piece of plastic to use on buses, ferries and trains.  There’s a huge saving when you swipe compared to buying a paper ticket!  To read up about the GoCard check out http://translink.com.au/tickets-and-fares/go-card.

From the heart of Sufers Paradise the only way to get public transport to Robina is by bus.  It’s around a 40 minute bus ride (30 mins from Pacific Fair at Broadbeach).  With a GoCard the trip will cost around $4 for an adult, and just over $6 with a paper ticket.

To plan your journey, check out the journey planner at http://translink.com.au/

4. Robina Tavern our preferred venue

For drinks and a meal before game day, QLDPanthers recommend Robina Tavern which is located at 227 Ron Penhaligon Way, Robina.  It’s a short bus ride from Robina Station.  In the past Robina Tavern have provided a shuttle bus to the ground.  Otherwise, it’s a short cab drive to the Stadium in a Maxi Taxi.  QLDPanthers will be at the Tavern from 12pm til 3pm.  Come and say hi!

5. Make it to the game!

It’s a 5:30pm Saturday game at Robina’s newly named CBUS Stadium (formely Skilled Park).  The suggested game time for the Under 20’s will be at 3:15pm with gates to open around the same time.
