The Canberra Raiders have today signed promising Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco to a three year deal, commencing in 2015.
The 21-year old, currently sidelined with an ankle injury, has played 25 games for the Tigers since making his debut in 2012 and started the season in excellent form before succumbing to injury. The Raiders, who beat a depleted Cowboys side 42-12 at GIO Stadium on Sunday, are believed to also be interested in the services of Melbourne Storm second rower Kevin proctor and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs skipper Michael Ennis.
Tedesco played his junior football for the Camden Rams, in Sydney’s south-west, and progressed through the Western Suburbs Magpies junior teams from 2011 and graduated to the Wests Tigers NRL team the next season.
In 2013 season he represented City in the 2013 City vs Country match and three games for Italy at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, where he played in the centres to accommodate skipper Anthony Minichiello.
Tedesco appears to be a replacement for current Raiders fullback Anthony Milford who will play for the Brisbane Broncos in 2015.
