Promising South Sydney hooker Api Koroisau is heading to Penrith Panthers in 2015 after signing a two year contract with the club. Koroisau recently made his debut against Penrith when he replaced Isaac Luke in a game where South Sydney proved too good 18-2 in wet conditions at SportingBet Stadium. Kevin Kingston is in the final year of his contract at Penrith having represented the club on 104 occasions.
In related news, Troy Dodds from Penrith’s Western Weekender says that Tim Grant may be heading by the end of June 30 to South Sydney. It’s been an unhappy year for Tim Grant where the prop has been dropped, and struggled with injury. Grant missed Penrith’s belting of Parramatta on Friday night. The twenty-six year old has played 117 games and is now in his eighth season with the club. Grant is already committed to the Rabbitohs for 2015.
And it’s an agonising wait for Panther fans to hear if Josh Mansour will take up an offer from the Raiders. We should hear early this week if Sauce stays with the club beyond 2014. He’s looking likely to play in Origin II after Brett Morris’ shoulder injury will keep him on the sidelines for the rest of the series. Sauce might have given us a hint that he’s staying with the Panthers with some fans posting on social media video where Mansour was lip-read to say “I’m not going”. It’s a catch 22, play with your mates and a great coach, or go for the money and play for a coach with a dismal win-loss record. The longer this drags out, the more you think Penrith will give Sauce an offer that will see him stay at Penrith.
