Cas Facebook Player Of The Year

Throughout the season, Castleford Tigers has conducted a man of the match vote after every game on Facebook, to determine who you the fans think has been the best player in black and amber this campaign.

Three points are awarded for the player with the most votes, with two going to the star with the second most votes, and one point is given to the player who comes in third place for each game. The player with the most points at the end of the season is the fans’ player of the year.

The Tigers triumphed over Salford two weeks ago at The Mend-A-Hose Jungle, and you voted for Jake Webster as your man of the match, after a sterling display and a last minute, match winning try. Jake got 48% of the vote, Justin Carney came in second with 18% and Michael Shenton came home third with 10%.

Castleford moved on to Widnes last week, and Daryl Clark’s hat-trick helped put Cas on their way to victory. Tigers’ fans voted in their hundreds, and an astonishing 91% of you (148/162 votes) opted for the hooker after his superb display; an unprecedented victory. Shenton came home second, with Andy Lynch third.
