The Gold Coast Titans have bolstered their forward pack for 2015 with the signings of Matt Robinson from the Penrith Panthers and Lachlan Burr from the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, to 2 year deals.
The Titans’ forward pack has taken a hit following the retirements of Ashley Harrison and Luke Bailey, while fellow veteran Mark Minichiello is off to the Super League in 2015 to play for Hull FC.
24-year-old Robinson has made a comeback from a serious neck injury suffered late last year and has played 29 games for the Panthers since being enticed to the foot of the mountains by Ivan Cleary in 2012. He began his career in the New Zealand Warriors under 20’s team in 2009 and in 2011 played for the Auckland Vulcans in the NSW Cup.
21-year-old Burr will be familiar to at least one Titans player after touring with Titans forward Paul Carter on the 2010 Australian Schoolboys tour of England.
Burr played for the Bulldogs’ under 20’s team for three seasons between 2009-2012 and made his NRL debut for the club in 2013. He has yet to add to his sole appearance for the club, stuck behind their star-studded forward pack. He also played for New South Wales at under 16 and under 18 level.
