South Sydney’s Isaac Luke is set to miss the National Rugby League Grand Final after being charged with a dangerous throw.
Luke’s tackle on departing Sydney Rooster Sonny Bill Williams was placed on report during South Sydney’s 32-22 victory on Friday night. Williams landed on his shoulder and was able to continue to play in the contest.
The only way Luke will be eligible to play is if he contests the charge at judiciary. His grade one charge plus carry over points will see the hooker miss one match if he takes the early guilty plea.
Canterbury’s Tony Williams has escaped charge after being placed on report during their win over Penrith. Williams for the second time this month escaped being reported and not being charged. His shoulder charge during the Titans loss in round twenty-six was deemed okay by the Match Review Committee. The Bulldogs good fortune continued last week after Josh Jackson was cleared of any wrongdoing for a chicken wing tackle.
