The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks have signed St George Illawarra Dragons pair Gerard Beale and Kyle Stanley to 3-year and one-year deals respectively.
Both players were involved in the recent Four Nations tournament, Beale with the successful New Zealand side, and Stanley with Samoa.
Beale, 24, made his National Rugby League debut for the Brisbane Broncos in 2009 and played 63 games for the club over four seasons before switching to the Dragons in 2013. A knee injury restricted him to just 5 games in 2013 but he managed to play all 24 games in 2014, mostly at centre.
“The Sharks are a club on the rise and I’m excited about this opportunity and to playing with them over the next three seasons” Beale told nrl.com.
“Add to that I’ve been living in the area for a little while now, my family is happy and settled and I’m really looking forward to the next few years.”
Stanley, 23, is a talented utility that has had numerous knee injuries in his short career and managed just 46 games over 5 seasons for the Dragons since he made his debut in 2010. He can play anywhere in the back line, in the halves and was used at hooker in 2014.
