Catalans Dragons have decided against offering Brent Calloway a contract.
Twenty-two-year-old American Calloway has spent the week training with the First Utility Super League side, having come to the sport from American Football.
However, the Perpignan club are not planning on giving the ex-University of Alabama running back a deal.
Catalans Dragons chief executive Christophe Jouffret said: “Brent showed a great potential during the physical tests, but having no previous experience of rugby league is a huge disadvantage and he has to learn the game.”
