Luke Burgess has been released by the South Sydney Rabbitohs and will head to Manly Sea Eagles for the next two seasons.

The twenty-seven year old leaves the defending premiers having appeared fifty-one times over the past four seasons.  Before heading to Australia his career started at the Harlequins before moving to the Leeds Rhinos in 2008.

He is the second of the Burgess brothers to move from Redfern.  Sam left the National Rugby League at the end of last season in pursuit of representing England at this year’s Rugby World Cup. This leaves twin brothers Tom and George as the surviving members of the Burgess clan at the Rabbitohs.

It’s a boost for the Sea Eagles after the departure of experienced Anthony Watmough, Richie Fa’aoso, Glenn Stewart and Jason King.
