The Sydney Roosters have unveiled an 18-man squad for their 2015 NRL Auckland Nines campaign, led by gun halfback Mitchell Pearce and rampaging Kiwi prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves splitting the captain duties.

Pearce is accompanied by his former New South Wales Origin halves partner James Maloney, while Waerea-Hargreaves forms a terrific propping tag team with fellow Kiwi international Sam Moa. The sensational young Roger Tuivassa-Sheck will also have the opportunity to strut his stuff in his home country paddock.

The Roosters squad is bolstered by a number of talented young names, with the likes of Jackson Hastings, Kane Evans, Samisoni Langi. These guys are fresh faces who haven’t spent much time in the tricolor jersey in top grade, but are expected to do some wonderful things once they solidify themselves. The Nines will present a great chance for these hungry young talents to rip in on a huge stage.

Gone is 2014 Nines sensation Brad Fittler, still catching his breath from his show stealing intercept try last year. Unfortunately for the Chooks, the former Origin stars exploits were a rare highlight in an unsuccessful venture that netted just a 1-2 record, failing to qualify from the pool stages. They get underway Saturday at 3:10pm local time against Piha pool opponents the Broncos.
