Catalans and Castleford will both be looking to get their Super League campaigns on track following opening round defeats.

The Dragons lost 18-7 in a hard-fought contest with Champions St Helens, and the Tigers allowed a 22-6 point lead slip after being stunned by a shock 24-22 defeat to local rivals Wakefield.

The last time the sides met in the south of France, Catalans prevented Castleford from lifting the League Leaders’ Shield with a 28-6 win in the final round of last season.

The Dragons are confident that centre Willie Tonga will be fit to play after being knocked out just 12 seconds into his debut against St Helens last week. Remi Casty is out however after breaking his hand in the match.

Head coach Laurent Frayssinous will decide on Friday whether to play Todd Carney after the Australian withdrew from the squad to play Saints with a minor injury. Scott Dureau has been passed fit and could make his long awaited return for the Dragons.

Michael Channing and James Clare have been called into Castleford’s 19 man squad replacing Adam Milner and Ashley Gibson, who miss out through a knee and hamstring injury respectively.

Ben Roberts is hoping to make his debut for the Tigers following his move from Melbourne Storm.

Catalans lost only three home games in the whole of 2014 and will once again be looking to make the Stade Gilbert Brutus a fortress this season.
