Preview

On Friday night an improving Gold Coast Titans side will play host to the Brisbane Broncos at Cbus Super Stadium.

With Origin stars Greg Bird and Dave Taylor returning to the club after a drug scandal, the Titans recorded their first win of the season against the Cronulla Sharks last week. Five-eigth Aidan Sezer led the points-tally for the Gold Coast club while playing at the Shire, while captain Nathan Myles led the forward pack as they were threatened in defence after Sezer’s match-winning try.

The Brisbane Broncos on the other hand, have experienced a spectacular season following the arrival of supercoach Wayne Bennett. The Broncos have recorded only one loss this season; against last year’s champions the Rabbitohs. Coming into this clash, young Broncos winger Dale Copley is to be replaced by Justin Hodges and injured forward Adam Blair will be replaced by Sam Thaiday. Blair’s injury looks the most serious after he left Mt Smart Stadium in crutches last week following a 24-16 win.

The Titans have named a line-up almost exact to the team that travelled to Sydney’s south last week, the exception being Hooker Beau Falloon is replaced by Kierran Mosely following a dangerous throw tackle. Josh Hoffman will continue to play in the full-back position after coach Neil Henry moved him there in Round 3.
