The struggling Manly Sea Eagles take on the improved Newcastle Knights at Manly’s first home game since their loss against the Bulldogs in Round 4.
Manly have had a very rough start to the 2015 season, wining only two games both against the Storm. Steve Matai was given a one game ban from the NRL Judiciary last week for touching an official. Matai is replaced in the line up by captain Jamie Lyon who has returned from injury. Jamie Buhrer is injured with an ACL, meaning that Dunamis Lui will be start in the 13th jumper. Blake Leary will start on the bench for Manly.
Only one change has been made to the Knights line up from there 28 to 22 loss to the Eels in round eight. Beau Scott returns to the line up, dropping Chris Houston down to the bench. It was announced on Tuesday afternoon, Knights captain Kurt Gidley will be leaving the Newcastle side to play for the Warrington Wolves in the Super League. Gidley has been with the club for 15 seasons.
Both sides have had a bad past few games with the both Manly and the Knights wining only one game from the past five. These two struggling sides will need to improve and impress if they want to go far this season.
