Michael Gordon a no show at Sharks training

Cronulla Sharks fullback/winger Michael Gordon was today a no show at training, following the club’s decision to block his mid season switch to the Parramatta Eels.

The Sharks had previously given Gordon, who is off contract at season’s end, permission to negotiate as it appeared they were unwilling to re-contract the Cronulla back.

The deal with Parramatta involved a switch with Eels’ forward Darcy Lussick, who was then suspended causing Cronulla to go cold on the deal and block the proposed move.

Gordon was displeased with the decision and, after discussing his options with the Rugby League Players association, has been advised to not show up to training.

The situation is sure to create more pressure on under fire coach Shane Flanagan, who many blame for the poor treatment of Gordon, amongst other things.

Sam Dasey studied a Bachelor of Sports Media at UC, graduating at the end of 2013. He has undertaken internships with Canberra Times and Touch Football Australia, as well as a local radio station in Canberra.
