Kingstone Press Round 19 Match Preview – Sheffield Eagles v Workington Town

Second game of the South Yorkshire v West Cumbria being played at Castle Park, Doncaster. Eagles will be looking to keep in touch with the top two while Town will trying to keep in touch with local rivals Whitehaven and others in the relegation battle.

Last Time Out
Each side played one of the top two last time out and both suffered defeats. Sheffield travelled to LSV with hoping of handing Leigh their first home defeat since the start of the 2014 season but that was shattered when Cory Aston was sent off in the 4th minute. Eagles fell to a 58-18 defeat against the league leaders.

Town welcomed Bradford and it looked like a repeat of the previous week against Featherstone was on the cards as the Bulls raced into a 16-0 lead, but credit to Town they got the score back to 10-16 and it stayed like to till just after the hour mark. The bulls then went scored 22 points in 7 minutes to wrap the game up.

Key battle
Both forward packs are filled with big players in name and sizes but the halves could be a big battle with Town’s new signing Jarrod Sammut expected to make his debut after signing last week, his battle with Dom Brambani could have a huge hand in who the victors are in this contest.

Eagles are going well despite their heavy defeat last week and should be able to get back to winning ways this week – Eagles by 16
