Kingstone Press Championship Round 21 – Sheffield Eagles 32-30 Bradford Bulls

A thriller at the Keepmoat to say the very least. Sheffield went into half-time with a 22-6 lead, which was extended to 30-6 during the second half, but Bradford fought back to within two points of the Eagles come the end. Jake Mullaney scored a hat-trick for the visitors and it was the former Parramatta full-back who opened the scoring after 12 minutes. Quentin Laulu-Togagae struck back for the Eagles three minutes later before his side took full control with three more tries before the half came to a close. Kyle Briggs, Tony Tonks and Rob Worrincy all crossed Bradford’s try-line in a seven minute period which gave the South Yorkshire outfit a handsome advantage. Worrincy bagged his brace after the restart before Briggs kicked a penalty goal to bring 30 points up for a Sheffield side who were performing a million times better than what they did against Halifax in round 20. But, Bradford started their comeback with a double from Mullaney, completing his hat-trick, and a lone score from Ryan Shaw. Now the two teams were back to within one score of each other but a second Briggs penalty goal turned out to be enough, even after Jay Pitts’ try with four minutes to go.

Prediction – Bradford by 10

Result – Sheffield by 2
