Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Coach Des Hasler has named fullback Brett Morris in his side for the Elimination Final against St George Illawarra Dragons to be played at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.
Morris was rested from Sunday’s victory over the New Zealand Warriors but has been back in training this week with the squad ahead of the match against his former club.
After finishing in fifth position, Hasler’s men now face the eighth placed Dragons, with the winner to player the loser of the Roosters v Storm match that will be played the night before.
Front rower Aiden Tolman knows what to expect at this time of year.
“We may have been here before but the finals series is different every year,” Tolman said. “We know it is do-or-die this weekend and it’s simple, we need to win.
“The Dragons held the competition lead earlier this year, so we know what they are capable of, I know they’re a team that can defend really well so we’ll have to be ready to go.”
The Bulldogs and Dragons will clash in the first of the elimination finals for 2015 on Saturday afternoon.
Bitter rivals for decades, this game has a lot more to it than just progressing to week two of the finals.
The winner will head into week two, whilst the loser will bow out of the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership finals series.
The ledger is even for 2015, with both teams scoring a victory in two fiercely competitive matches.
Who will hold the advantage for 2015 and progress?
