A demolition job to say the very least. Widnes have pretty much sealed their place in Super League for next season, along with Hull Kingston Rovers, with their impressive display against the Wildcats. Even the most optimistic Wakefield fan will have been struggling to see a light at the end of the tunnel after watching their side get completely trounced. The Vikings were 22-0 up after the first 40 minutes of play. Lloyd White and Aaron Heremaia both posted a try each, either side of a Rhys Hanbury brace. Hanbury completed his hat-trick in the second half before chief playmaker Kevin Brown also got in on the scoring act as he crossed the whitewash on 48 minutes. Lee Smith got Wakefield on the scoreboard with a four-pointer after 54 minutes but that was the only scoring act from the hosts. Hanbury notched his fourth try of the match on the hour mark, five minutes before Paddy Flynn touched down for the final try of the evening.
