This morning it was confirmed that the Championship clubs would be going on a summer holiday to the Seaside as Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road was confirmed again as the hosts of the Summer Bash Weekend.
The layout is exactly the same with four matches on the Saturday and three on the Sunday.
The Ipro Sport League 1 Cup final will open the weekend at high noon on the Saturday.
The fixtures continue as Sheffield Eagles take on London Broncos at 2.30pm and then the first scheduled derby of the weekend will take place as the two West Cumbrian sides Workington Town and Whitehaven will lock horns with a 4.45pm kick off.
The opening day will conclude with a mouthwatering fixture between last season’ stop two sides Bradford Bulls and Leigh Centurions kicking off at 7pm.
The second day will kick off with the Heavy Woolen Derby between Dewsbury Rams and Batley Bulldgos with a 12.45 kick off. The two promoted sides will meet each other at 3pm with Oldham Roughyeds tackle the Swinton Lions in a Lancashire derby.
The closing game of the weekend goes to the pleasure of Halifax and Featherstone Rovers as they meet at 5.15pm in what should be blazing Bank Holiday Sunshine.The line up has three derbies and a clash between last year’s top two, This years event was a major success and all in the division will be hoping that the 2016 event can build on that and make the bash an event not to miss.
