Wigan Warriors hooker Michael McIlorum will not play again this year, according to head coach Shaun Wane.
The 28 year-old suffered a broken ankle in Wigan’s World Club Series defeat to Brisbane Broncos and, despite recently undergoing an operation on it, Wane doesn’t think the England international will feature again in 2016.
“Micky’s operation went well, the surgeon is really happy,” Wane said via Loverugbyleague.com.
“It will be a long one, I can’t see him playing again this year.”
McIlorum made a toal of 32 appearances for the Warriors last season and started the first two rounds of Super League before suffering this injury.
