An emphatic win for Featherstone Rovers against Dewsbury Rams on Sunday afternoon. Jon Sharp’s men were professional and proficient as they never looked threatened in this tie which saw three sin-binnings in the first half. Despite the rather big scoreline, the visitors were only ten points up at the interval after tries from off-season signings Misi Taulapapa and John Davies. Earlier on in the half, Dewsbury pair Jason Crookes and Luke Adamson were sin-binned on separate occasions for a high tackle and professional foul respectively while Taulapapa, on 34 minutes, was also sent from the field for a ten minute spell due to a high shot.
Taulapapa doubled his tally for the game on 49 minutes before the Rovers started to rack up the points from the boot, with Jamie Foster adding a penalty goal just minutes prior to Kyle Briggs slotting over a one pointer. Converted tries in the final quarter from Jamie Cording and Ian Hardman made sure that their side surpassed the 30 point mark on a brilliant day for the Rovers, who look more like a top four side by the week.
