London Broncos 14-32 Sheffield Eagles

A big win for Sheffield Eagles, who avenged their defeats to the Broncos from earlier on in the season with a 32-14 victory at Trailfinders Sports Ground. It was London who struck first courtesy of Rhys Williams but the visitors didn’t buckle under the pressure as they held the Broncos to four points for the remainder of the first half. Sheffield went into half-time with an 18-4 lead as Matt James, Matty Fozard and Stan Robin all registered converted tries for the South Yorkshire side who have been struggling for the most part this season. Mark Aston’s side scored the first two tries of the second half as Quentin Laulu-Togagae and Menzie Yere crossed the whitewash either side of the hour mark. Israel Eliab responded for the Broncos with his side’s second try of the contest but Duane Straugheir made sure there was to be no comeback as he touched down with ten minutes remaining to seal the victory. An Andy Ackers consolation wouldn’t have disheartened any of the hardy Eagles fans who followed their side to the capital for what was a great win.
