Leeds Rhinos got off to a winning start in this season’s Qualifiers with a comfortable 62-6 win over Featherstone Rovers at the Big Fellas Stadium.
Brian McDermott’s men were 18-6 up at the break after tries from Kallum Watkins, Liam Sutcliffe and Joel Moon. Anthony Thackeray scored Featherstone’s only try of the contest on 28 minutes.
The second half was one way traffic as Leeds put their foot on the gas to take a stranglehold on proceedings. Sutcliffe and Moon both completed their braces while Watkins registered a second half hat-trick to take his tally for the afternoon to four tries. Mitch Achurch, Carl Ablett and Tom Briscoe were the other try-scorers for the visitors on what was a rather straightforward day at the office for last season’s treble winners.
