PREVIEW: Brisbane Broncos vs Gold Coast Titans

The Brisbane Broncos will host the Gold Coast Titans at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night to kick off the first elimination final. Brisbane finished 5th on the ladder with Gold Coast sneaking into the finals finishing in 8th place.

The Brisbane Broncos secured their home final after defeating the Sydney Roosters by 10 points in the last regular season in round 26. Broncos shut down the Sydney Roosters as they let the Roosters’ into score the first two tries of the game. They will be confident after winning the last five games in a row and have momentum on their side.

The Gold Coast Titans finished in eighth position after the Wests Tigers’ pushed them into finals after they [the Tigers] lost to the Canberra Raiders. Following the hype of signing Jarryd Hayne, the Titans have struggled to find their form especially last week after losing to the North Queensland Cowboys 32-16 in Townsville. They will be looking to improve their defence to avoid Broncos piling on easy points.

The key match- up will be between wingers, Jordan Kahu (Brisbane Broncos) and Nene Macdonald (Gold Coast Titans). Both will play a crucial role to add points to the scoreboard and they will be looking to perform at their best to get the ball down when play is created for them on the side. Both Kahu and Macdonald have been standouts for their side hence how essential their role is. Nerves are normal but definitely will be present for these two as they have a huge part to play. Whichever player remains cool, calm and collected will be able to have a good impact.

The winger to perform and assist his side the most will help their team to victory to advance through to the next round of finals.

The Gold Coast can be dangerous when group as a team well; they will struggle without a home crowd supporting them. Jarryd Hayne will hope to have a huge influence during finals.

Brisbane Broncos will be looking to advance through finals with a comfortable victory in front of a home crowd.
