JAMES Roberts is out of Friday’s clash with the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville.

Roberts will miss the NRL semi-final after the Broncos were unable to get him off a contrary conduct charge at the judiciary tonight.

Roberts had been charged out of last week’s win over the Titans with the unusual citation that constitutes an offence against the spirit of the game.

The decision will mean a change for the Broncos at training tomorrow morning, with young winger Jonus Pearson likely to come into the team.

Pearson was named 18th man for the Broncos yesterday.

The team will head to North Queensland straight after training.
