Warrington Wolves have been confirmed as winners of the 2016 League Leaders Shield after their 23-6 victory over Hull FC at KC Stadium on Friday night.

The result meant Wigan Warriors would finish second despite their 48-24 disposal of injury ravaged Catalans Dragons at DW Stadium.

St Helens finished in fourth as they left Wakefield Wildcats without a victory in the Super Eight’s phase at Langtree Park.
