The QCCS Mackay Cutters are pleased to announce the signing of Lona Kaifoto for the 2017 season.
Lona comes to the Mackay Cutters from the Townsville Blackhawks. Lona hails from Bowen and played half a season with the Whitsunday Brahmans in 2013. He also has represented the NQ Marlins and Queensland Rangers in 2015
Coach Steve Sheppard said “I’ve coached Lona in the past and know what he brings. Lona is an extremely tough footballer who possesses exceptional leadership skills. It’s attributes like this that I believe are essential to the success of the Mackay Cutters and we are extremely lucky to have him on board.”
Executive Officer Troy Rovelli also commented “I tried to get Lona to Mackay a few years back when I worked with him in the NQ Marlins. I’m wrapped the coach Sheppard has finally got his signature.”
Lona is a qualified plumber and has already started work with local Plumbing business Mark Maunder Plumbing.
