EYE-CATCHING duo Andy Litherland and Chris Fleming have pledged their futures with Barrow Raiders for next season.
Their confirmation further boosts head coach Paul Crarey’s squad ahead of the 2017 campaign and confirms the Raiders’ desire to have another tilt at promotion after going agonisingly close last season.
Both Litherland and Fleming suffering injury setbacks during Barrow’s League One 2016 odyssey, but they will be expected to come out all guns blazing as they battle to establish themselves in what is becoming an increasingly stronger squad.
The players have each agreed one-year deals for what will be their third season with the Raiders.
Andy Gaffney, Director of Rugby praised both Litherland and Fleming. Starting with Fleming he said “He can play wing, full back and cover at centre with equal aplomb. Loves the club this will be his 3rd season and he is improving all the time. His ability and enthusiasm has earned the respect of all his teammates and the coaching staff.
He also said about Litherland that ” He is another local product now starting his 3rd season. Equally at home playing centre or second row, we are looking for Livvy to establish himself in the starting lineup week after week. Still learning and we hope he will be a big part of the team for years to come.
