BREAKING: Former rugby league player takes his own life

Sadly there’s breaking news involving former Sydney Rabbitoh and Illawarra Steeler Jason Moon with reports he has taken his own life.

Moon was to turn 50 on Sunday 8th January, the day which his death has been reported.

His career spanned six seasons where he played 33 games for the Steelers and 31 at South Sydney, scoring twelve tries.

Our thoughts are with the family of Jason Moon.

This follows the well-publicised death of Chad Robinson in December 2016.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are mourning the passing of former player Jason Moon who passed away on the weekend.

Jason played 68 games for the Rabbitohs including 31 first grade games between 1986 and 1988.

Jason played alongside his brother David during his three seasons.

On behalf of everyone connected with the Rabbitohs, we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jason Moon.
