2017 NSWRL Draws Released

The Intrust Super Premiership NSW Grand Final rematch between Illawarra and Mounties in Round Eight is one of the highlights of the 2017 New South Wales Rugby League competitions draw released today.

All three NSWRL senior competitions – Intrust Super Premiership NSW, Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield – will kick-off in line with the 2017 NRL competition, while the SG Ball (U18), Harold Matthews (U16) and inaugural Tarsha Gale Cup (U18 women) competitions commence on 11 Feb.

Intrust Super Premiership NSW premiers Illawarra will begin their title defence against Penrith at home on 4 March, while last season’s minor premiers Mounties host Canterbury to begin their 2017 campaign.

Fox Sports will again broadcast each match-of-the-round clash live and exclusive in high definition throughout the entire regular season and finals series.

“The start of the year is always an exciting time,” NSWRL General Manager of Football Barrie-Jon Mather said.

“All players are fit and healthy, coaches have finished their preparations and the supporters have plenty of unanswered questions about their team and the possibility of reaching the Grand Final on 24 September.

“It will be interesting to see if Mounties can repeat their success of last season across all grades, or whether East Campbelltown and the Cutters can repeat their achievements.”

“We expect another close competition and excitement that we’ve come to expect from both senior and junior competitions.”

Wentworthville will mark the beginning of the Ron Massey Cup season as they take on 2016 surprise packets Hills District, while the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles’ Sydney Shield side will play the first match of the club’s triple-header at their new home in Blacktown.
