PREVIEW: Warrington Wolves v Castleford Tigers

Warrington come into this fixture fresh from a big win over NRL’s Brisbane Broncos in the World Club Series, whilst Castleford have had a two-week break following their emphatic 44-16 opener against Leigh.

Last Time Out

Warrington started their season with a tough trip over to France, as they took on Catalans in the early stages. They fell foul at the hands of the Dragons’, as they lost 20-12 but soon made amends as they pulled off a magnificent win against Brisbane in the World Club Series.

For Castleford, they opened their account by welcoming newcomers Leigh to Yorkshire. It was more of a walk in the park than the jungle though, as Castleford seemingly cruised to a 44-16 win to start their season.

Key Battle

If this game is going to be a close call, then it will come down to the quality of the kickers. For Castleford Luke Gale is always a safe bet to add the extras, and for Warrington Declan Patton isn’t too bad with the boot either. Gale has aready bagged 24 points for the Tigers in just one game, whereas Patton has got 15 points in 2 games for the Wire.
Both are exceptional with their feet, and either could be the difference on the night.

Two of the most attacking teams in Super League, there could be a try fest on the cards. Castleford have been tipped to have a good season, and Warrington are always up there for a shot at silverware. I think it’s going to be a real tough match to call, but I think Warrington will clinch it under the Halliwell Jones floodlights – Warrington by 4.
