MATCH PREVIEW: Castleford Tigers vs Hull FC

Castleford will be looking to end the Super 8’s with a bang as they welcome Hull FC to the Mend A Hose Jungle.

Hulls top four hopes will be on the line this week as they know that just a point would secure a third place finish and a Semi Final against Leeds. However they will have to overcome a very strong Castleford side and the pressure of being away from home.
If Hull drop the points on Friday it will leave the top four open for Wigan and give them a chance to make the Semi Finals.
Castleford meanwhile will be playing for keeps and to make it six wins in a row heading into next weeks semi final.
Hull winger Fetuli Talanoa is set to return to the starting squad having missed last weeks game against Wakefield, and he believes that the Tigers will cause problems despite having a weakened side.
“You only have to look at what a weakened Castleford side did to Wigan on Sunday to realise how much of a quality team they are,” Said Talanoa.

Talanoa scored in Hull FCs challenge cup win against Wigan last month.

“They can score from anywhere on the field, so everybody needs to be switched on for us.

“Teams can get carried away when they focus too much on other results, so we need to take care of ourselves first and foremost.”
The last time these two met was back in July with Daryl Powells men surving a Hull comeback to come out 24-22 winners.
Mahe Fonua opened the scoring for the Black and Whites, however tries from Luke Gale, Mike McMeekan and Zak Hardaker gave the home side the advantage at half-time.
Fonua grabbed his second and Fetuli Talanoa touched down for a late double to set up a tense finale but Castleford held on to take the points.
The visitors have a good record against Castleford this season and are the Tigers “bogey” team. Hull have won two of the three meetings with Lee Radfords side with them defeating the Tigers in the quater finals of the Challenge Cup.
