Each week during the Intrust Super Cup, Matt Crowhurst will give his verdict on the main points to come out of the competition.
WYNNUM’S SEASON OVER
The season is essentially over for former powerhouse club Wynnum Manly. Their mid-season review resulted in a number of senior players being put on notice – ‘perform or you’ll be looking for a new club at season’s end’. This weekends lose will not have helped their cases. Expect a clean out come seasons end.
YOUNG GUN TO MAKE MOVE
Which Cup young gun, who was recently named in a QRL Team of the Week, is unhappy with the lack of game time he is getting and is looking for a new club? Expect a move overseas before month’s end.
EX-NRL COACH TO ASSIST STRUGGLING CLUB
Confirmation this afternoon that Wynnum Manly have called in Neil Henry in a coaching assistant role to help Adam Brideson for rest of the season.
NON-RESIDENT ON THE WAY TO NRL?

Three wins on the trot have seen the Sunshine Coast Falcons soar up the ladder. Written off my many, after a disappointing start to the season, they now sit in 7th. With an experienced coach and a roster that includes a good balance of talented youngsters and wizened veterans they have all the pieces in place to challenge anyone in the competition if they can push on and make the top 6.
