Leeds Rhinos will look to move back into the top eight as they travel to the Mend-a-hose Jungle to take on Castleford Tigers. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the clash
Daryll Powell has made one change to the 19-man squad that faced Catalans last weekend as last season’s top scorer Greg Eden returns from injury.
Eden replaces Kieran Gill while Powell also confirmed that Adam Milner should be fit to return after missing the last game with a back injury.
Castleford 19-man squad: Clare, Clark, Cook, Eden, Egodo, Ellis, Holmes, Laulu-Togaga’e, Massey, McShane, Millington, Milner, Moors, Sene-Lefao, Shenton, Springer, Trueman, Watts, Webster.
The Rhinos are boosted by the return of captain Stevie Ward as he recovers from concussion after passing the return to play protocol.
Ash Handley is joined on the sidelines by Mitch Garbutt, so Brad Dwyer and Jordan Lilley are included alongside Brett Delaney, who replaces Jack Ormandroyd.
Leeds 19-man squad: Golding, Briscoe, Sutcliffe, Hall, Moon, Myler, Cuthbertson, Parcell, Singleton, Ward, Dwyer, Delaney, Mullally, Ferres, Walker, Lilley, Smith, Oledzki, Walters.
HEAD TO HEAD
Leeds will be looking to get the Sinfield-Lowes era off to a flying start in a bid to recover their recent poor form of one win in the last six.
Castleford, on the other hand, have three wins and a draw in their last six despite last week’s defeat to Catalans.
The Tigers hold the psychological advantage with five wins in the last six meetings, with Leeds’ only victory their Grand Final demolition of the Tigers. However, the chance to impress their ‘new coach’ could bring the best out of the Rhinos.
KEY BATTLE- Grant Millington v Adam Cuthbertson
Vital cogs in both the attack and defence of their respective sides, both players combine the tough work of a forward with the deft hands of a half-back.
In the forward battle, Millington combines 459 tackles with over 1600 metres made from 251 carries, while Cuthbertson boasts 450 tackles with over 1000 metres made from just 181 carries.
While the game-breaking moment in this game may come elsewhere, somewhere within that moment you will often find one of these players starting the move.
