Intrust Super Cup | Week 17 Four Pointers

Each week during the Intrust Super Cup, Matt Crowhurst will give his verdict on the main points to come out of the competition.

EMERGING CONTENDER FOR ISC TITLE

Easts are asserting their credentials as a genuine premiership threat and with NRL players like Matt Groat and Cheyse Blair to return they will only get stronger. The Jets and the Tweed Heads continue to tease their fans with a potential finals appearance. The Falcons and Hunters are treading a fine line, with only 6 rounds remaining they must win all of their remaining games to have any hope of making the finals. While you can, if you haven’t already, put a red line through Wynnum’s season. They are done.

ANOTHER COACH GONE, WILL THERE BE MORE?

With Kim Williams recent announcement that he will be leaving the Capras at the end of the season we now have two current coaches who have confirmed they will not be in the ISC in 2019 and two who are fighting to retain their positions.

WHO AM I?

A Cup back, I have had repeated requests for a release denied by my club and am currently biding my time in the BRL. I am off contract at the end of the year and with my home, partner and work all settled in Brisbane I will be looking for a contract with a Brisbane based club next year.

STAND OFF AT THE OK CORRAL…

Interesting dynamic developing within one club. The CEO wants the coach gone, the coach, unsurprisingly, wants too remain. The coach has board level support to remain at the club and his team is winning. A few more wins and things may get very interesting within the club.
