NORTHERN PRIDE 18
Tries: Jared Allen (57m), Connor Jones (65m), Javid Bowen (70m)
Goals: 3 Conversions
Two sides who will come in confident of victories in round 1. The Pride are once again away but that did not bother them when they downed the Cutters. Nor will Wynnum Manly after their victory over the Magpies that raised the eyebrows of many followers of the ISC.
Who to Look Out for:
Gideon Gela-Mosby showed the speed that he is renowned for with the second of his tries as he covered the length of the field that you need to see to believe. If included (also listed for Cowboys) he will look to exploit the right-hand side of the field for some more tries. The naming of David Mead will weaken the Seagulls but there is every chance he may be involved as the Broncos trim their list for Friday night. If so, he will be more than a handful for the Pride
How they will win:
This game will be won by the team that makes the least number of mistakes. Both sides profited from a number of errors by their opponents whilst keeping their own hands relatively clean. With the sides being relatively equal, it will most likely go down to the side that completes their sets better. The backline strength favours the Pride but not by much, and the packs are very close.
This could be a coin toss of a game and both teams will be aiming to be in the final six at the end of the season, this game may have some long-term consequences. I will be favouring the Pride to take this game, but either side has a decent chance of taking the win. Pride by 6.
