PREVIEW from Dan White

Capras will feel a bit bruised but more confident going into this match after a close loss to the highly-rated PNG Hunters. Whilst this will be good, it is unfortunate that their tough start rolls on to the Redcliffe Dolphins. The Dolphins can take some element of avengement of their loss in last year’s grand final from their strong showing over the Burleigh Bears but apart from the two points, it does not count for much.

Who to Look Out for: This game has two teams that scored in differing manners last weekend. The Dolphins were strong through the middle and used their sizable pack well, and the Capras spread it wide to give winger Ken Tofilau a hat-trick and his centre partner Justin Tavae the other score. The Dolphins will rely on Watts, Lodge, Giess and Lee, to continue their bullocking form and it is hard to see who will be able to contain them over the full 80 minutes.

How they will win:

The Dolphins would be mad to depart from the game-plan that worked so well last weekend. They will concentrate their attacks through the middle and bully their way to victory. For the Capras to have a chance, they will need to be tackling gods who also wrap up the ball to prevent the offloads that did the damage to the Bears. They will need to make the most of the opportunities whilst trying to keep themselves in the game.

Prediction:

I do not believe that the Capras will be able to shut down the Dolphins pack, especially after coming off a game with a similar pack size. They could surprise, but if I was a betting man, the cash would be on the Dolphins. Dolphins to win by 8+.
