Wynnum Manly saw off a fast start from their namesakes and finished with a comfortable victory. The Cutters came up to Townsville and were mercilessly massacred by a Blackhawks set on domination. It was not pretty for the Cutters faithful. Can the Cutters bounce back, or will the Seagulls inflict more pain for the rebuilding Cutters?
Who to look out for:
The Cutters will be looking for the same effort but a better result from their forward pack. Braden Uele ran in a four pointer and they will look for the big prop to repeat the effort so they can get some points on the board. Generate the go-forward and then get the backs to finish it off.
For Wynnum Manly it will be in the engine room that they will have to break the Cutters open. The Blackhawks exposed the Cutters pack, and it would be a poor coach that did not try and exploit the opportunity of opening up those raw wounds. Expect Mitchell Frei and Alex Barr to be tasked with creating doubt and havoc as Wynnum Manly push for their fourth win on the trot.
How will they win:
The Seagulls had the gameplan for victory handed to them by the Blackhawks. A ten try pounding with tries coming from charges through the middle and then finishing out the game over the tired Cutters has given Wynnum Manly the way, now all they need to do is match the efforts and desire.
For the Cutters They need to forget last weekend even happened. Some games are best left never watched and that was one of them. They know that the Seagulls will be looking to do the same and they know that they will need to come out hard and fast to shake up the Seagulls and get them to not try and follow their gameplan. If they let them settle, the game will be over by half time.
So many times, you have seen a team get pounded one week and then turn it all around the following match. I do not believe it will happen for the Cutters this week (maybe next). Wynnum Manly to win by 10+.
