An interesting clash concludes the Intrust Super Cup round 7 fixtures at Bishop where the Norths Devils welcome the Tweed Heads Seagulls.

Both sides come into the game with a loss, Tweed Heads have plenty more before too as they have yet to win a game so far in 2017 and sit last on the ladder. At the other end of the ladder Norths fell from first to fourth with their second loss of the year to the Souths Logan Magpies.

Tweed Heads were not too far away against their equally winless Gold Coast rival Burleigh in last weekend’s XXXX Rivalry round, and they will hoping to build on that and take it to the Devils at Bishop Park. Although it is a tough run for the Seagulls with games against top 6 sides Norths Devils, Townsville Blackhawks and Sunshine Coast Falcons in consecutive weeks.

Norths Devils were without Kodi Nikorima last weekend, but they still had quality in the halves with Todd Murphy, who has been rewarded with being named on the extended bench for the Broncos this weekend, and former Rabbitoh, Eel, and Super League player Chris Sandow. Nikorima continues to deputise for Ben Hunt, so the Devils will rely on the halves combination to turn around last week’s result this weekend.

Also missing from the Devils last weekend was a try from Delouise Hoeter. The off season recruit had previously scored in each of the Devils first 5 games, so the home side will hope he can pick up the scoring feats again this weekend.

You can see the Devils bouncing back this weekend, as they come up against a side who have leaked an average of 32 points a game so far in 2017, and with Norths talented halves and some good grunt up the middle it should be a comfortable win.
