30/06/2013 09:10 – Match preview at

Match wrap-up: A much improved second half by the Panthers with few mistakes and applying pressure on the Dragons.  At 13-6 a Lewis Brown dropped ball led to a try to Chase Stanley which saw the Dragons get within three points.  But the Panthers did what they needed to.  Inspired by Mose Masoe got home.  Luke Walsh had a good night with the boot with minimal errors when kicking.  A top eight position for now as we head on the road to Darwin next week where we face the Titans.  Another must-win game.

FULLTIME: Panthers 25 Dragons 10 and the Panthers are in the eight tonight!

79th min – PANTHERS TRY – James Segeyaro scores a long distant try.  The Dragons got the feed from the kick off.  Stanley dropped the ball from the scrum win and the offload went to Segeyaro who went 70 metres to score.  Walsh converts the goal and the Panthers win 25-10.

76th min – PANTHERS TRY – James Roberts scores on his debut and the game is won! Luke Walsh close to the line kicks through and Roberts gets there too easy.  Walsh’s conversion is good.  Panthers 19-10 ahead.  Roberts is related to Amos Roberts (uncle), the former Panther flyer.

75th min – Important Penrith penalty with Masoe held down by Weyman.

74th min – Luke Walsh’s tackle on Frizell see’s the Dragon lose the ball.

73rd min – Crossfield kick knocked forward by James Roberts again and more pressure for the Panthers.

71st min – Dragons feed ten metres out after Roberts knocks on under the posts.

67th min – Prior coughs up the ball after a Nigel Plum hit.  Panthers now have a chance to hit back.

65th min – DRAGONS TRY – Chase Stanley finishes off a great move scoring in the corner.  The ball went from one side to the other.  Morris got the ball to Runicmen and he found Stanley on the inside who dragged Brown over the tryline.  Dugan from the sideline misses.  Panthers 13-10

62nd min – Nightingale steams onto a pass close to the Panthers line and can’t handle it – Panthers twenty metre restart.

59th min – Dragons close to scoring but the pass from Dugan is tapped by Nathan Green over the sideline.

58th min – Dan Hunt in trouble.  Leg injury and it looks like his game is over.  Panthers then concede their first penalty of the match.

56th min – Josh Dugan down.  Ran into the shoulder of Grant.  He gets up now and play continues.

49th min – PANTHERS TRY – all the pressure has paid off and Brad Tighe scores following through a grubber from Isaac John.  Good persistence pressuring the Dragons and getting repeat sets.  Luke Walsh takes his time to convert this goal.  And it’s good.  Panthers lead 13-6.

45th min – Masoe held up over the line after James Roberts went close to scoring earlier.

43rd min – Clint Newton kicks through on the last and chases hard to tackle Josh Dugan in goal.

SECOND HALF: Dragons kick off to start the second half with the Panthers ahead 7-6.

HALF TIME: Luke Walsh has kicked a field goal right on the break after an attempt on the last tackle of the last set was charged down and saw the Panthers get six again.

The Panthers need to work on their ball handling especially in their twenty.  The Dragons just don’t look like cracking the defence when they have the opportunity.  The try to De Belin was the only time they crossed.  And because the Panthers have needed to work the ball out from their line they’ve not had the chance to attack much on the opposition line.  The Panthers making plenty of ground.  Less ball handling issues and more pressure on the Dragons in their twenty and this game is for the Panthers to win.  Rain has stayed away for now.

34th min – Luke Walsh intercepts a Matt Prior offload.

32nd min – Panthers put themselves under more pressure as Brad Tighe spills the ball after James Roberts knocked ball a kick from the Dragons.

28th min – Last tackle play by the Panthers see’s good hands especially from James Roberts after the Walsh bomb hit the posts.  Dragons to drop out.

26th min – Weyman coughs up possession with the Dragons inside the Panthers twenty.

25th min – From the kick off Moylan dives to catch the ball near the in goal sideline and is into touch.  Goal line dropout.

23rd min – VIDEO REF – Matt Moylan chases a Luke Walsh kick through and they’re checking the grounding.  It looked like the kick on the fourth was too early, but Moylan chased hard and got in front of Fein to force the ball down.  Decision: Try.  Luke Walsh converts and the Panthers square the game up at six all.

22nd min – Panthers run the ball down to the Dragons line and on the last force Dugan to push the kick over the line for a drop out.

21st min – Lewis Brown kicks a grubber through on the last, the next kick hits Morris flush in the head and the Dragons eventually get the ball 40 metres out from their own line on the turnover.

15th min – Walsh bomb goes straight up and he takes the ball, throws the ball wide where there was an overlap.  The ball flies over the touchline.

13th min – Walsh chip kick over the top for Moylan find him in space and the ball goes wide and the play breaks down on the last tackle.  Moylan is down after being hit by Dugan but he will continue.

8th min – VIDEO REF: Jack De Belin scores following a dropped ball by Tim Grant close to the line.  Decision: Try.  Dugan converts and it’s all the Dragons with field position early and now lead 6-0.

6th min – Moylan caught in goal.  Dragons another chance to score here.

4th min – Walsh put Brown clear but slid when he got to fullback Dugan.

1st min – James Robert mistake ten metres from his line but the Dragons can’t take advantage of the first opportunity to put points on the board.

NRL KICKOFF:  Panthers have kicked off the game and will defend the Showground end of the Stadium.

No rain at Penrith right now which is good for the fans who are at the ground.

29/06/2013 19:05 – Reports from the ground suggest the surface is in as good condition as it could be for a wet night, compared to Leichhardt Oval where there’s plenty of water laying on the surface.

29/06/2013 18:50 – Fulltime in NYC and a try on the bell to the Dragons has got them home 18-14.
