Panthers first coach passes away

Some sad news in the rugby league world with the passing of our first ever coach Leo Trevena.

Trevena played with Western Suburbs and Canterbury-Bankstown between 1950 and 1954 and went on to coach the Penrith Panthers in our foundation year 1967 and in 1973.

In 44 games where he coached our club, he recorded ten victories and none famous than April 23 1967.  A famous day where the Panthers hosted champion side St George Dragons at Penrith Park and recorded a stunning 24-12 victory with 12,201 in attendance.
