Sydney Roosters will be looking on Saturday to bounce back as they host the Parramatta Eels at Allianz Stadium.
Their heavy defeat by South Sydney was compounded by the National Rugby League match review committee that banished Sonny-Bill Williams to the sidelines after a shoulder charge.
Parramatta got the perfect start under new coach Brad Arthur, disposing of the New Zealand Warriors last Sunday in a game where Jarryd Hayne was dangerous, and both Vai Toutai and Semi Radradra scored hat-tricks.
Expect the hunger to be back in the Roosters this week. Attacking weaponry over the park. Michael Jennings will be the one to watch as he matches up against experienced Willie Tonga. Radradra will face up against Roger Tuivasa-Sheck in another key match-up out wide.
Without SBW, the Roosters have the forward pack and attacking prowess to trouble the Eels. But this is a new Parramatta, under new management and putting their troubled past behind them. The Eels will be no pushover at the start of 2014.
Sydney Roosters to post first points of the season not before the Eels to put in a genuine effort.
