The South Sydney Rabbitohs have come crashing back to Earth following their opening round victory over the Sydney Roosters. They face the Canberra Raiders at ANZ Stadium on Sunday with both sides desperate for a win.
Losses to the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and the Wests Tigers has the Rabbitohs down in 10th position and star hooker Isaac Luke will also miss the next month at least with a shoulder injury. The Raiders were disappointing in going down 24-12 to the Gold Coast Titans at home last week and a foot injury to Edrick Lee gives Bill Tupou a rare start in first grade while work horse second rower Shaun Fensom returns from suspension. The Rabbitohs have named Apisai Koroisau at hooker and Greg Inglis has been passed fit to play after being knocked out early in the Rabbitohs’ loss to the Tigers.
Another tipsters’ nightmare this one; you never know what the Raiders will produce and the Rabbitohs are badly out of form. On paper, the Inglis factor gives the Rabbitohs a slight edge but they need a big improvement on recent performances.
