For 55 minutes the Rabbitohs were untouchable and led 40-0, before conceding 4 late tries, something that will disappoint head coach Michael Maguire.

A converted try to Adam Reynolds after 11 minutes got the Rabbitohs on the board, before his halves partner Luke Keary touched down after 18 minutes to make it 12-0 as the Rabbitohs got the jump on the Sea Eagles.

Veteran Rabbitohs winger was having a wow of a game and had two line break assists and then flew high over Jorge Tafua to score a spectacular try in the 27th minute to extend his side’s lead. Reynolds’ perfect night with the boot continued to make it 18-0 as the Rabbitohs flexed their muscle against a stunned Sea Eagles side.

After earlier dropping the ball over the line, Rabbitohs winger Alex Johnston scored his side’s 4th try with just 5 minutes left in the half. Reynolds missed the tough conversion attempt from out wide but the Rabbitohs were all over their opposition and led 22-0 at half time.

Just two minutes into the second half, Reynolds grubbered for himself and won the race for the ball to make it 28-0 after he converted his own try.

Two quick tries to Dylan Walker in the 52nd minute and Alex Johnston in the 55th minute put the game to bed with the Rabbitohs leading 40-0 with 25 minutes left in the match.

They seemed to ease of in the final 20 minutes and in a worrying sign heading into a prelimnary finals match, they conceded 4 soft tries.

In the 64th minute, Jorge Tafua broke free down the left edge and popped a suspect pass inside to Brett Stewart to score. Then in the 68th minute a spilled bomb by the Rabbitohs was dived on by Lyon to score. He converted to make it 40-12.
