Here’s a look at the 2015 key signings for Catalans Dragons:
1. Todd Carney
He may have left the NRL in controversial circumstances however Catalans and the Super League have gained a quality player in Todd Carney for the 2015 season. The former Canberra Raiders, Sydney Roosters and Cronulla Sharks half-back has racked up 827 points in 166 NRL appearances. Despite his disciplinary issues the former Dally M winner is an outstanding half-back and if the Dragons can handle his behaviour and recent injury problems they have someone who could take them to the next level.
2. Remi Casty
Catalans fans will be over the moon with the re-acquisition of former second rower Remi Casty who represented the Dragons between 2006 and 2013. The French international became an integral part of their World Cup campaign in 2013 and was a crucial player for Catalans, gaining a place in the 2012 Super League Dream Team after a brilliant season. At the start of the 2014 he joined Sydney Roosters in a bid to test himself in the NRL however he only managed to make 12 appearances for the Roosters as he struggled to break into their impressive forward pack.
3. Willie Tonga
Willie Tonga will bring huge experience to the Catalans squad for 2015 as the 2004 NRL Premiership winning centre completed his move from Parramatta to the French outfit after his second stint at the Eels was littered with injury problems. It is a gamble on Tonga due to his injury record over the last three years but keep the former Dally M centre of the year fit and they could become a dangerous side.
