Blake Ferguson returns to National Rugby League
Controversial former New South Wales Origin player Blake Ferguson returns to the National Rugby League after signing a one-year deal with the Sydney Roosters.
Ferguson’s registration was knocked back by the governing body right on the June 30 deadline this year. Since then he has been working off-field with the blue, red and whites. I
n the Sydney Roosters official statement, CEO Brian Canavan praised Ferguson for his efforts with the club. “Blake has genuinely applied himself and been totally compliant with all club directions”, Canavan said.
“He has been out of the game for a long period of time and together with the NRL, we have been working closely with Blake to provide him with the necessary support to get him to this position as he re-establishes his NRL career”
His career was put on hold after the National Rugby League banned him after an incident involving a woman at a Cronulla nightclub.
Ferguson’s return is set to divide the rugby league community with the governing body looking to improve their image with women in the sport.
